A Belated Best of 2009 List

Well, I am a bit late with this. I had really hoped to take care of this in January or February, but grading papers and raising children always gets in the way of a fun time.

Here is my list of albums that I purchased in 2009 that I really enjoyed. If you disagree, feel free to send me a 100% legal copy of the album(s) that I missed. I would be more than happy to listen and add to the list, provided your taste in music does not suck and the album is as good as the ones listed below.

So here we go. In no particular order.

1) Cracker - Sunrise In The Land of Milk and Honey

2) Mark Eitzel - Klamath

3) Built To Spill - There Is No Enemy

4) Chuck Prophet - ¡Let Freedom Ring!

5) David Sylvian - Manafon

6) Hope Sandoval & The Warm Intentions - Through The Devil Softly

7) Jarvis Cocker - Further Complications

8) Joe Henry - Blood From Stars

9) Mission Of Burma - The Sound The Speed The Light

10) Nick Cave & Warren Ellis - White Lunar

11) Robyn Hitchcock & The Venus 3 - Goodnight Oslo

12) Son Volt - American Central Dust

13) Spiral Stairs - The Real Feel

14) Yo La Tengo - Popular Songs

15) Noah And The Whale - The First Days Of Spring

16) Doves - Kingdom Of Rust

17) Elvis Costello - Secret, Profane & Sugarcane

18) Grant Lee Phillips -
Little Moon

19) Bad Lieutenant - Never Cry Another Tear

Covers/Live Albums from 2009, worth the listen.

I would have thought you'd have like the Fever Ray album.
